In a questionnaire, closed-ended questions are when you ask respondents to choose between several predefined answers.
Depending on the situation, closed questions can be :
– multiple choice,
– Ranked questions,
– with a drop-down menu.
Closed-ended questions allow for easy answers (because the choice is limited and framed).
They are mostly used when:
– you need to collect quantifiable data,
– you are afraid that the subject of the survey does not interest your target.
