The current market is the value or volume of sales of a product made by all suppliers over a given period. It can also concern a whole category of products. Here, there is no distinction between the suppliers. Indeed, when a company wants to know the state of the current market, it takes into account the sales it has made and those made by all its competitors. The volume or value of sales is calculated by taking into account the people who consume or have consumed the indicated product during the reference period. In strategic marketing, the current market is also called the real market.
