Merchandising refers to all the product presentation and surface optimization techniques used in retail outlets. When mastered, merchandising optimizes product sales and allows the store to be extremely profitable. n the retail sector, it is therefore the ideal tool for selling more and better.

To optimize merchandising, retailers use and analyze a wide variety of data. These include, for example

– the behavior of point-of-sale visitors: their routes, their traffic speeds, their consumption habits, etc,
– the frequency of use of each department.

The objective is to identify the most frequented shelves in order to better choose and organize the offers proposed there. To determine the effectiveness or otherwise of a merchandising strategy, it is generally sufficient to consult the sales figures that the point of sale achieves per linear meter or per square meter.
