Niche marketing is the set of techniques used to promote products in a niche market. We talk about a niche market when it is centered around very targeted and therefore restricted customers. There are generally two types of niche markets.

– The local niche market. Specific products are sold in a restricted geographical area. The companies offering these products know the consumption history of the inhabitants of the area and are therefore confident of sales.
– The global niche market. This type of market is also small. However, the customers are not crowded in a specific area, but are scattered all over the world.
