Portfolio of activities

« Back to Glossary Index

The portfolio of activities refers to the sectors or fields of activity of a company (DAS). Generally, the company is involved in several activities at the same time. Each SBA represents a homogeneous pair of products and markets.
For example, a decoration store may have several business areas:
– 1 DAS dedicated to home furnishings,
– 1 DAS dedicated to home decoration accessories.

For a company, defining its DAS is essential. It allows it to :
– know its target well,
– establish an adapted communication strategy,
– determine the competitors for each DAS and to carry out a competitive intelligence.
– For the company, determining the customer portfolio facilitates the achievement of its global development objectives.
